Other DWI arrests:
- On Nov. 24, Uber driver Ezio Casimirri, Jr., age 46, of Bellport, was stopped for speeding on Nichols Road north of the Greenbelt Parkway on his way to pick up a customer. A subsequent breathalyzer found that his blood alcohol concentration was .10 percent, and he was arrested for DWI.
- On Thursday, Nov. 25, Holbrook resident Melody Rivera, age 46, was stopped on Vets Highway, north of Sunrise Highway when she failed to maintain her lane and had no headlights on.
- Luis Chavarria, age 32, of Shirley, was stopped on Sunrise Highway by Hospital Road for making an unsafe lane change. Chavarria was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for DWI, consented to a breath test, and registered a BAC of .16.
A breathalyzer found that her BAC was .21 - nearly triple the legal limit - and Rivera was arrested for aggravated DWI.
- Rolando Lazo age 53, of Patchogue, was stopped on North Ocean Avenue by Sunrise Highway for failure to maintain lane, unsafe lane change, and failure to signal a lane change.
Lazo was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for DWI, consented to a breath test, and registered a BAC of .16, double the legal limit.
- Thomas McCarthy, age 21, of Lindenhurst, was stopped on North Ocean Avenue north of Roe Boulevard after running a stop sign. McCarthy was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for DWI with a BAC of .15 percent.
- On Friday, Nov. 26, Nestor Torrespardo, age 26, of Medford, was observed on North Ocean Avenue, north of Woodside Avenue traveling 120 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. Torrespardo was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for DWI, consented to a breath test, and registered a BAC of .22 percent, upgrading the charge to aggravated DWI.
- Amber Aras, age 32, of Kings Park, was caught on Patchogue-Holbrook Road, north of the Holbrook Country Club traveling 95 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. She was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for DWI.
- On Saturday, Nov. 27, Steven Renn, age 31, of Massapequa, was observed on Sunrise Highway west of exit 46 drifting into the center lane and shoulder multiple times and exceeding the posted 55 mph speed limit at 81 mph. A breathalyzer found his BAC to be nearly double the legal limit and he was arrested for DWI.
- Julio Sydney, age 29, of Coral Springs, Florida, was spotted driving on Lake Street in Patchogue, failing to maintain his lane of travel and failing to use turn signals. He refused to take a breath test and was arrested for DWI.
- Arlinson Arietta, age 27, of Hartland, Wisconsin, was observed blowing through the stop sign at the intersection of North Ocean Avenue and Cedar Grove Street in Patchogue. His BAC was .11 and he was arrested for impaired driving.
- On Nov. 28, Johnnie Wills, age 69, of Brentwood, was stopped on Sunrise Highway east of Oakdale-Bohemia Road for operating a vehicle without either rear tail lamp lit or visible.. Wills was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for DWI, consented to a breath test, and registered a BAC of .09 percent.
“Thanksgiving is a time to come together and give thanks with family and friends. Unfortunately, that celebrating sometimes leads to poor choices and dangerous situations on our county’s roads,” Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon, Jr. said.
“I commend my staff for their hard work in safely removing these impaired drivers from the streets so that those traveling for Thanksgiving can arrive safe and sound.”
